Drawn from the SilverSpoon Vineyard, perched high on the western face of Mt Camel at the highest elevations in Heathcote. The cooler aspect and altitude make this a particularly distinctive site for Grenache.
These old vines are among the very few genuinely dry-grown vineyards remaining in Heathcote. Immaculately farmed and naturally low yielding - around one tonne to the acre - they produce fruit of remarkable perfume, nuance and concentration without heaviness.
Bright red fruit leads the wine, with wild strawberry and red cherry giving way to orange zest, coriander seed and warm spice. Fine-boned and fragrant, with savoury detail and a long, gently structured finish.
A distinctly high-country expression of Heathcote Grenache.
